Health Care Transparency and Accountability
Medical quality and transparency is of the utmost importance to the HSC. Prior to the current Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada crisis, the HSC worked diligently during the 2007 Nevada State Legislature to pass and fund a health care transparency bill name Assembly Bill 146. This piece of legislature requires the Department of Health and Human Services to establish and maintain an Internet Web site that provides information to the public about the charges and the quality of services provided by hospitals and surgical centers for ambulatory patients in Nevada.
The Coalition has committed $250,000 to the project this fiscal year to ensure the successful completion of the project. Currently the regulations for the project are being written with implementation of the regulations to follow.
